In March 2025, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) for its Advanced Political Training program, the Vietnam Australia Centre (VAC) delivered Strategic Public Sector Leadership workshops in Hanoi and Hoa Binh to equip over 80 current and future leaders with modern leadership and management skills.

The primary objective of the workshop is to foster and enhance modern leadership and management skills among leaders, managers, and potential candidates. The program also aims to equip participants with international integration skills, develop strategic vision and thinking, enhance institutional quality and efficiency, and incorporate Australian leadership experience.

Mr Bui Duc Dung, Deputy Head, Department of Training and Scientific Research Management, Hoa Binh Political School, said “Through the workshop, I gained practical knowledge that I can utilise in my management tasks and in enhancing the activities of my department. As a lecturer, I can also share leadership knowledge by incorporating it in my lessons.”

Ms Naomi Cook, Development Counsellor at the Australian Embassy in Vietnam said, “I am pleased that the majority of participants are female and in Hoa Binh nearly half are from ethnic groups. Australia and Vietnam have a shared goal of promoting gender equality and social inclusion. This workshop and others like it are helping us to achieve this goal, by increasing representation of women and ethnic diversity in leadership positions.”
